There are two options available for enrollment:
Enrollment Prior to Taking Courses
Enrolling in a certificate program prior to taking any courses guarantees completion of the program under its current requirements. Subsequent changes to the curriculum will not impact your course of study. Additional benefits of enrolling early include your being notified of special events and discounts related to your certificate program.
Enrollment After Completing Courses
You may take certificate program courses prior to submitting an Application for Candidacy. This allows you the opportunity to explore a program before making a commitment. If, however, the program requirements change before you enroll, you will be required to complete the certificate under its revised curriculum. Courses you have taken that are no longer part of the program will not be applied toward the certificate. For this reason, we highly recommend that you enroll in a certificate program as soon as possible.
Application for Candidacy To officially enroll in a certificate program, students are required to submit an Application for Candidacy and a nonrefundable application fee of $150-$200.

- Certificate counseling
- Internships (available for most programs)live link to internship flyer
- Career information sessions that provide an opportunity to meet instructors and learn from guest speakers how they entered the career. (available for some programs)
- Discounted fees on professional review programs .
- Eligibility for federal financial Aid (available for some programs) live link to financial aid website
- Eligibility for veterans educational benefits (available for some programs) live link to financial aid website
- Eligibility for certificate specific scholarships (available for some programs)live link to financial aid website
- Formal recording of certificate completion on UCLA Extensions’ official transcript
- Participation in UCLA Extensions’ annual graduation ceremony at Royce Hall.
