Please join Darby LaJoye, Federal Security Director (FSD) for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Los Angeles International Airport as he presents on how to prepare and operate before, during and after an emergency. While serving as a FSD in New York, FSD LaJoye experienced firsthand how to operate during an emergency when Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast in October 2012.  He will be joined by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Deputy Executive Director of Operations and Emergency Manage- ment, Jacqueline Yaft, who will share her perspective from an airport operating environment.

About the Speaker:

Darby LaJoye

Darby LaJoye became the Federal Security Director for Los Angeles Assistant Federal Security Director at Raleigh-Durham International and the Eastern North Carolina Airports, Deputy Federal Security Director for Security in Los Angeles and as Federal Security Director in New York City. Mr. LaJoye served as a TSA Crisis Manager for numerous high profile events including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy and the American evacuation of Lebanon in 2006. Prior to joining the agency, Mr. LaJoye served in the U.S. Army in various Light Infantry and Airborne units. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond. He attended Harvard Business School  for Executive Education and has a Master’s Degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College.  Jacqueline Yaft is responsible for airside, terminal and landside operations at all LAWA airports, including the Emergency Management Division. Before LAWA, Jacqueline worked at Denver International Airport (DIA) since 1999 where she held the position of Assistant Deputy Manager of Aviation. Prior to Denver, she held positions with JFK International Airport and Kansas City International Airport in Missouri. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University.
