We are grateful to all 102 attendees of the UCLA Extension Paralegal Training Program (PTP) Information Session on April 19. Future paralegals were able to hear from multiple graduates of the program with different perspectives on the field. The food was delicious food was catered by John O’Groats restaurant of Encino.
Attendees hear from Yvonne Kubicek a graduate who is now a Paralegal Manager at a large entertainment company and an instructor in the PTP. Yvonne told us of her exciting work history and what students can expect from their instructors in the PTP.
Farah Noor, a paralegal at Munger, Tolles + Olson, is a recent graduate of the program (June 2013). Farah spoke about her experience in the program, career services, and her first position at a downtown law firm.
Donna Reznick-Goodich, a graduate of the program who is now a paralegal at Alston + Bird, and is the current President of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association spoke about her experience as a paralegal, the evolution of the paralegal field, Business and Professions code 6450, and how the Los Angeles Paralegal Association is a vital member of the legal community. Sean Tyler, a graduate of the program who is now Program Manager for the PTP spoke about the importance of paralegals, the history of the PTP, the mechanics of becoming a paralegal, and told a couple of bad jokes.
