UCLA Extension’s Accounting Program has developed strong relationships with local professional associations and industry groups. These organizations play a vital role in the ever-evolving disciplines of accounting and provide a forum for their members to network with professionals in the field.

Many professional associations also have local chapters and offer discounted student membership rates.


American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is the national, professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants. Its mission is to provide members with the resources, information, and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public as well as employers and clients.

CalCPA supports the public and CPA profession by advancing financial education and improving the financial literacy of Californians.  Its 14 chapters feature technical committees, interest groups and geographically-based discussion groups tailored to provide excellent professional networking opportunities and to meet the needs of accounting professionals.  To learn more about free membership for students and CPA candidates, click here.

CFA Institute

Association for Financial Professionals (AFP)

National Association of Enrolled Agents
